Journeys Hotel London Reviews
Run of the mill hostel Jun 24, 2011
This hostel is located a few blocks from the kings Cross station. My friend and I had a hard time finding it as the reception wasn't too helpful with directions. For future reference: exit the station facing the street make a left and walk two blocks. Then make a right and stay to the right of the street and walk a few more blocks and you'll see the sign for it. It's painted red and black- pretty funky. I liked that there was a code for the door and that only customers were given te numbers. Same goes for the rooms inside the hostel. There was also a room with a lock that you can leave your luggage in. The key is always with the front desk unless someone is using it. I stayed in room 1 ( unisex) which was fine until the smell of frat boy hit your nostrils. Also the room was just completely cluttered being that there were so many people occupying it. There was also a unisex bathroom- which I didn't have a problem with but for the more conservative ones i think, need to check, there are still segregated male and female baths.
There was a common room where everyone watches movies and hung out. And there was a kitchen everyone had access too. I really liked that concept as it gave another option other than eating at a restaurant which could get very expensive. Everyone was really nice and reception was great. They were super relaxed. I have to admit it looks pretty sketchy in the beginning but it's really not bad at all.
