Like the title says, you could feel the water roaming down the fall. Journey Behind the Falls is amazing experience. To get here you should go to Table Rock Center and there is a big sign that says "Journey Behind the Falls". It costs $12,60 CA and whole thing will take probably about 30 minutes. You will take an elevator down and then you will get a raincoat and after that you are behind the falls. You could see the water roaming down from this observation holes. There is some information boards about the falls.
And you will get in a upper and down observation desk just beside the Horseshoe fall! You could stand in the mist and get really really wet! The upper observation desk is accessible to weelchair but not the down observation desk because of the stairs that lead there. But I will recommend this attraction but it´s not so amazing that Maid of the Mist obviously. Part of the USA and BAHAMAS travel blog |

Journey behind the falls (which i called Under the falls in my blog) shows you the tunnels under the Horseshoe Falls. There are many signs showing the erosion of the falls to now, history of the falls, and some miracles of the falls (i.e. a boy who survived a fall from the falls). While going through the tunnels you can hear the roaring of the water. Also, there are openings where you see just a sheet of white! you can't see past all the water and the noise from the water is so loud!
Once off the elevator if you go left (right is the tunnels) you can go onto a platform which is mere yards away from the edge of the horseshoe falls! You are given a plastic poncho but you will get COMPLETELY wet. I have the best photos of the Horseshoe Falls from this platform! Part of the Niagara Falls, Canada October 2007 travel blog |
