The biggest town in northeast Arkansas is Jonesboro. Many remember the city for the awful school shooting that took place in March 1998 but the city is a very peaceful town. Jonesboro is the home of Arkansas State University.
Rice farmers dot the countryside around Jonesboro but much of the land is also covered with thick woods. Downtown Jonesboro is in the middle of a revitalization. Loft apartments, restaurants and more make downtown Jonesboro a thriving place to live.

I check into the Comfort Suites Hotel in Jonesboro after a very long day of travel delays. The woman at the front desk checked me in and said "Let me show you to your room." To which I asked why and she told me their door key machine was broken and that she would have to let me into my room every time I needed in.
