Filipino fastfood chain that is four times bigger than McDonald's in the Philippines Nov 14, 2012
Jollibee is just one of the many brands of Jollibee Food Corporation (JFC). Jollibee specializes in hamburgers, fried chicken, spaghetti, desserts and specialty Filipino dishes. It is the number 1 competitor of McDonald's in the Philippines, and has over 2,000 stores nationwide and in a dozen countries worldwide.

This review will not focus on the other JFC brands like Chowking, Greenwich Pizza, Red Ribbon, and Mang Inasal.

The taste and quality of the food is generally consistent in any Jollibee store that one goes to. You will find a Jollibee in most major cities in the Philippines during your travels. The stores in the provinces have parking spaces but there are also stores that are located inside shopping malls and other buildings.

While McDonald's is known for consistency worldwide, Jollibee is know to come up with creative offerings during different seasons, then pull them out, and offer these again sometime in the future. This strategy adds variety so one won't be looking at a boring menu month after month.

Among the recommended food items to try out are their burgers (especially the largest one known as the Champ), their spaghetti (Filipinos love the sweet variety), their fried chicken called ChickenJoy (best with gravy), and Filipino specials like Pancit Palabok, barbecue chicken, and the various breakfast meals served with fried rice and egg. Occasionally you will see items like Twister Fries, Hamburgers with pineapple (Amazing Aloha), and so on.

One can expect to spend anywhere as little as $2 for a simple meal, or up to $4 for the top of the line Champ meal.

Philippine's Fast Food Restaurant Oct 06, 2009
Philippine's version of McDonald's is Jollibee, a fast food restaurant chain that serves up Filipino dishes ala fast food style.

With an adorable mascot of an oversized bee, Jollibee has dominated the fast food arena in the Philippines, easily beating McDonald's.

Try their fried chicken with gravy sauce, palabok (rice noodles with duck sauce), and spaghetti (it's sweet and tad spicy with small slices of hotdogs) and the delicious peach-mango pie for dessert, among their very Filipino menu. You can't go wrong!

Jollibee can be found all over the Philippines! So stop by and try it out!
