John's Pizzeria Reviews

This is, my friends, the best pizza in the World!!! I grew up in New York and have tasted alot of pizza here. I've had pizza throughout the US and abroad. I've had pizza all over Italy. None comes close to John's.
This is an example of how when something simple is really good, even something as simple as pizza, it is a special experience worth going out of your way for. John's pizza is the ultimate thin crust, coal fired-brick oven pizza. There are no slices served - only whole pies - and you sit in cozy wooden booths as you savor the flavor! Beware of the many copycats and pretendenders (a la Ray's, etc. , etc.). Forget them. The original John's is at 278 Bleeker Street in the West Village. Although they opened two other locations, and many say the pizza is just as good, a first timer must make the pilgrimage to the West Village original (on Bleeker between 6th and 7th Avenues). In a city with this many choices - literally a pizzeria on every block - you have to be extraordinary to get these kind of consistent raves, year after year! Native New Yorkers who know such things all know about John's. Be warned, its soooooooo good that there is almost always a line. But take it from someone who doesn't do lines, this one is worth it. Try it ..., you'll like it! |
