John and Yoko Japanese Restaurant

John and Yoko Japanese Restaurant Makati City Reviews
East meets West - Japanese fusion cuisine Nov 16, 2012
John and Yoko in Greenbelt 5 is one of many restaurants of the same name across Metro Manila. This location is more prominent as it is in a high traffic area, the high end mall of Ayala Land called Greenbelt 5.
John and Yoko is named after the eccentric couple of John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono (both popular in the 70s), who represent a meeting of East and West. Such is the theme for their fusion cuisine.
They have their typical Japanese fare (sushi, sashimi, rolls, udon, ramen, sukiyaki, tempura, bento boxes, etc.) and western infused meals (pizza, steaks, specialty seafod, and so on).
There are set menus for groups of 4 (called Nation of Blowouts, which make ordering much easier for those who would like a bit of everything, or are not sure what to start off with.
The place has fancy interiors and decors, with Japanese characters faces on the chairs (samurai, geisha) and a black and red theme with waiters and waitresses dressed in dark shades (the other branch had them in white spaceship style uniforms).
Overall, the food was good and hearty and one can expect to pay $12-$20 per person. It is recommended to go in larger groups so you can share the various viands and entrees compared to going alone.
