Right below the Telles Family Shrine is a Historic Site Plaque. The Plaque is of John Ward's ranch; a pioneer rancher who established a ranch here in 1858. On the plaque is a summary history of what took place on the ranch including the kidnapping of Ward's step son by Apache Indians.

The conflict between the Indians led to the infamous conflict between the Cochise Indians and Lt. Bascom.

The history is interesting. If you stop by the Shrine, you will not miss the plaque. It is on a huge boulder and in blue.

PS: Do not leave for tomorrow, what you can do today!
