John O'Groats Vacation Guide
Taigh Iain Ghròt (scotish gaelic) is a village in the very north of the scotish mainland. Because of it's location it's regarded as the most northerly point of Scotland for the tourists. The actual northerly point is neaby (Dunnet Head).
It's said that the name came from a Dutchman, who got the right to have a ferry from the scotish mainland to the Orkneys.
John o' Groats has around 300 people living there.

Welcome to my JOGLE blog. On Friday 4th September myself and Alan will set-off on our bike journey from John O'Groats to Lands End. Our journey will take us from the very top of the Scottish mainland to the extreme South-Western tip of England, through much of the finest countryside in the British Isles. We anticipate that our journey will take between 2 to 3 weeks to complete.
