Des Moines's Sculpture Park! Jul 30, 2011
This is a fantastic little park to walk through! It is apart of the Des Moines Art Center, located further down Grand Ave.

Its great place to see some excellent pieces of public art by some internationally well known artists such as keith Haring and Debora Butterfield; and, maybe even have a picnic! - they ask that you keep food and drink away from the art work.

Its free to visit and on the edge of town so you won't have a lot of traffic. At night the sculptures are lit up..

My favorite pieces were a large partial human form created by welded letters titled 'NOMAD' by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa - It was definitely the centerpiece of the park - and 'SPIDER' by Louise Bourgeois!
