Jodhpur Vacation Guide
Jodhpur is situated in the Thar Desert and it is the second largest city in Rajasthan. Often referred to as "The Blue City", Jodhpur is famous for the many tightly packed city buildings with painted blue walls all nestled amoung narrow, maze-like streets and alley ways.
The main feature of Jodhpur is Mehrangarh Fort located at the edge of the city. Perched atop a 125m high hill, the views from the fort offer visitors an excellent opportunity to photograph the sea of blue buildings below.
Other popular sites include the Umaid Bhawan Palace, the white marble memorial Jaswant Thada, and the busy Sardar Market where bargains can be made purchasing antiques, footwear and textiles.
Jodhpur is well connected by air, railway and roads.
