Jinja is a major town in Uganda on the north shore of Lake Victoria. On the major route between the capital Kampala and Kenya.

Jinja lies in the south east of Uganda, 87 km north east of the capital, Kampala. It is located on the shores of Lake Victoria, near to the source of the Nile

It is home to the source of the Nile where the waters of Lake Victorias used to drop down in the river. Today there is only a small park around the place and a huge power plant generating a large part of the electricity in Uganda.

Among tourist Jinja is mainly known as a base for adventure activities. One of the most thrilling adventures is the white water rafting on the nile.

so, i can't adequately capture the ways in which my trips to uganda have impacted me...but here is a snipet:) uganda is probably not high on the list of "tourist" destinations despite the reference to it being the "pearl of africa", the source of the nile complete with some of the best rafting in the world (but get there fast...they are planning to dam the nile to solve some significant energy issues at which point the rapids will be gone), and famous gorillas. although i am generally not m...

For the adrenaline lover, white water rafting at the SOURCE OF THE WHITE NILE is the ultimate push. It is said that the source of the Nile and its life-giving floods eluded many for many, many years. Headed to the famous spot for water activity in Jinja - the Bujagali Falls. It's a nice place with very nice campsite. It's a good place to stay for those who like Rafting or Kayaking. However, for me - a wanderer....one day seems more than enough...haha Surprisingly, the highlight to me here..was not the "Rapid-like" falls....it was the Chapati stall right at the entrance of the campsite....Tasty and cheap....much better than the "over-priced" meal in the campsite..
