New resort in Jimbaran Oct 01, 2016
We chose this hotel because we wanted to be close to the airport, the Sekat Jagar Spa and Jimbaran seafood restaurants.
This is a very new hotel in Jimbaran (under the Prabu Group) which had its Grand Opening early July 2016. We were there from 11 Jul to 14 Jul 2016.
Brand new hotel so everything is brand new - modern design - spacious
Welcome drink and towel to wipe your hands face while waiting for your room at the reception
Excellent bathroom and bed
There are 11 types of room - we stayed in the Puspanjali Room so we had a bathtub in our balcony which we unfortunately had no time to use!
Free breakfast buffet - you get to select an egg selection everyday
Sky bar with DJ (which is unfortunately quite dark - not much lighting)
The girls at the reception Astri & 1 more fair skin girl who look mixed are very good and they really try to serve you the very best especially Astri - we gave her a big tip to thank her for such good service & trying to make our stay pleasant. She was scared to accept it but we insisted since we know they are not well paid generally.
Swimming pool with a bar - unfortunately bar tender is not always there
Spa in the hotel - but i was not able to get an appointment (i think they only have 2 masseurs)
Walking distance to the famous Jimbaran sunset seafood restaurants by the beach (which is actually a tourist trap).
Since it is so new, not many taxi drivers know this place exists so I always had to give them directions.
There is a lot of male staff handling the kitchen-breakfast area. Unfortunately service is very lacking, they are always coming together to chat. Some were even sitting at the dining area chatting while we guests are having breakfast. So i dont know if its because they are lacking the training on how to serve or they are just plain lazy.
Same goes for the bar in the swimming pool, we had to wait for a while before I could get the attention of the male staff to stop chatting at the dining area and come attend to the pool bar.
Breakfast is the same everyday - the fruit juices are not drinkable - its not real juice its syrup & super sweet (but I think the locals like this).
The free toiletries - shampoo & shower gel are actually hand wash soap!! I recognised the smell of the shower gel as those one would find in public toilets and judging from the consistency these are not meant for bathing or shampooing. So to confirm, i went to a supermarket in Bali and found the exact same soap. this is disgusting. Since we are staying in a Spa resort, i expected better toiletries.
To get anywhere - you need to get a hotel taxi or the local Bluebird taxi. Take the Bluebird taxi and insist on meter, you will find out the hotel taxi charges double the price of the actual meter costs. We just realised this at the end of the trip.
