can't find any major negative aspect... Apr 05, 2015
To start, I can’t find any negative aspect of this hotel. My husband and I are very satisfied with the overall service!

The location is very strategic. Located in the financial district of Beijing; just a few walking steps away to CCTV Headquarters. So, for those interested in modern architecture, this building is a must-visit when in the area. More importantly, Jianguo Hotel is near to a subway station, restaurants, inexpensive shopping malls like the Silk Market, and there is also a Starbucks coffee shop a few steps away. Most city attractions are nearby and easy to access via subway or by foot, too! The location is also safe during nighttime; we didn’t have any trouble walking the streets at night.

Noticeable when entering the lobby is the abundance of staff available to help a guest. Manpower in this hotel is never short! On top of that, the staff are friendly and accommodating, but at the same time they seem to honor their guests’ space or privacy. Like when a guest hangs out in the lobby, they don’t come near you until you ask them for help.

Our room was great! It is always clean. The heating temperature is just right. And, the size of the room is just about right for two people. The bed and its cushion is very comfortable and huge as well. I did not itch! And, my back did not hurt the following morning. The best bed I’ve ever slept on in my entire history of hotel stay! Bed sheet and pillows are clean and fresh.

A flat screen T.V. (with CNN channel) seats on top of a drawer. Office furniture i.e. a desk and a chair placed in corner. Stationaries and pens are also ups for grabs. The lounging chair in the corner is a nice addition for a comfortable tea time. There are ample drawers for storing underwear and socks. A wardrobe closet with hangers, flat iron, ironing board, security box, and two bathrobes – all neatly stack or hung inside.

The bathroom is also a winner! Clean, and amply supplied with fresh towels. Shower head pours out water in just the right amount of pressure. Faucet knobs are not a pain when fusing the hot and cold water. Toiletries like; toothpaste, soaps and bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion are at our disposable daily. As well as hair comb, toothbrushes, disposable sleepers, and shower caps.

The small fridge came in handy to keep my candy bars from melting! There is no coffee maker, but there is a teapot for boiling water when we needed to drink tea or coffee. Their coffee are the instant ones in sachets. Every day for six days; we had two bottles of mineral water for free.

Breakfast inclusive! Various choices of food from continental breakfast foods to Chinese/Asian food both are satisfactory. I enjoyed all the Chinese delicacies – dim sum, congee, vegetable soups, steamed eggs, fish cakes, fried rice, and many more. There are a number of different fresh fruits to select from also. For the first time, I tried the “dragon fruit!” I did like it, but I will not say it is my new favorite fruit.

The use of Wi-Fi is free, but only for checking emails. Can't log on to Facebook!

Additional services are travel tours, money exchange, and airport transfer. They provide city maps when you ask.

Jianguo Hotel may not be newly built, in fact, a little upgrade is calling for it. IMO, they need to invest on new chairs for the lobby. :) Nonetheless, I find no reason why I wouldn't stay here again! Check out the photos! I took tons! :)
