Jetstar - Budget Airline Feb 25, 2012
Jetstar is a budget airline. An offshoot from its parent company Qantas.

As a budget airline your ticket pays for you to travel from point A to point B. And anything else you want inbetween you pay for. This includes food and beverages, pillows and blankets.

A can of soft drink will set you back $3, a sandwich or wrap $7-$8 and a beer or wine $6-$7. Tap water is free.

There is no free entertainment on board. No even music in the armrests. Though on longer flights over 1 1/2 hours you can hire an Ipad for $10 which has the lastest movies and tv shows as well as music.

If you have check-in baggege ensure you do pay for this at the time of booking. ($10-$15) Otherwise you will get charged $80 at the airport.

In conclusion. Save yourself some money and buy your drinks and snacks before you get to the airport. Arrive at the gate early. Pay for you check-in luggage in advance. And you wont have any problems

A Decent Airline for Australia Apr 16, 2010
Jetstar is a budget airline that flies out of Australia. Does many domestic flights throughout Australia, as well many international flights as well.

They are a budget airline. I flew with them from Sydney to Darwin. As well a round trip from Sydney to Melbourne and back. A well organized airline and are on time.

Drawbacks, they are a no frills airline, you do not get anything included in your ticket. You have to pay for all your food and drinks on board. So make sure u pack a lunch when flying with them.

The customer service I received from them was quite good though. They made sure my seatbelt was fastened on take off. As well they put my bag in the overhead department for me.

The flight attendants wear a nice orange uniform that is quite different.

Overall a good airline, if all you need is to get from point A to point B. I would fly with them again and recommend them to anyone flying in Australia.
