Jenny's Bar Liverpool Reviews
Lovely Hidden Bar - Great Cocktails Apr 25, 2015
Jenny’s Bar is a ‘secret bar’ right in the heart of Liverpool (not going to give exact location away, but it’s a stone’s throw from All Bar One – just look for the sign Jenny’s – all may not be as it seems!!!!)
Rather like the ‘Cheers’ bar the staircase is hidden under a canopy and you head down a flight of stairs in what appears to be a basement. Once through the door you’re transported back to the prohibition era of the 1920’s with the theme being very art déco – even the stained glass window inscribed with ‘surgery’ is a nice touch. The bar area is separated in two by luxurious velvet curtains, behind which is a seated area with function booths and tables (available to book, if you don’t want to stand in the bar area.) The barmen are also dressed to fit in with the 1920’s theme, and the list of cocktails on offer is enough to tempt anyone. I had a Shanri-La which is cocktail quirkily served in a Chinese take-out box, complete with a fortune cookie. Given that it’s a secret bar it tends not to attract the rather rowdy hen/stag parties, or the younger generation set on getting as drunk as possible.
Jenny’s bar is a great little place to meet, not overly crowded and people do tend to move on after a cocktail or two. Highly recommended if you can find it!!!
