Jekyll Island Overview

Jekyll Island is located along the coast of Georgia in an area known as Georgia’s Golden Isles. The island is small and relatively unpopulated, although it is within driving distance of other small islands, such as St. Simon’s Island. There are plenty of summer homes on the island, yet there is little to do. The island doesn’t even have a gas station. Most people go to Jekyll Island to get away from it all. Conservation is also important on the island and tourists pay a $5 a day conservation fee to visit the island.
