One of the joys of going to Jazzfest is basically gorging on food. And Jazzfest has tons of booths that sell all sorts of goodies. First, you can't miss the soft shell crab po boy. It is just succulent. Then, you need to try the Crawfish Monica, a pasta dish with crawfish. You also need to try the Pork Chop Sandwich (or platter, which has rice). The pork chop was excellent -- only thing is that it still comes with the bone so be careful when biting into the sandwich. You also have to try the Barbecue pork ribs with white beans. The beans were spicy and yummy! The fried shrimp po boy is also good. The vegetarian muffuletta is basically slices of cheese with olives drenched in olive oil on this huge sandwich. It is ok. The regular muffulleta has slices of ham, salami and turkey. The Jambalaya was pretty good -- especially the andouille sausage in the jambalaya. You can also get steamed crawfish but it could get messy. Luckily, the organizers have set up hand santizer posts by the food booths. Tons of dessert too. There are the famous beignets from Cafe du Monde. There is a white chocolate bread pudding that was soooooo good. The peach cobbler was also pretty good, although ice cream on top was missing and would have made it to-die-for. I could go on and on about the food but I definitely recommend going to Jazzfest and eating the food there. I saw a sushi stand, a falafel stand and a Mexican food stand. I didn't try any of those but they are there if you are interested. I'd rather try the New Orleans fare. I go in with an empty stomach and come out having gained 5 pounds. But, it is all good. I mean really good!

i second these emotions. my favourites include: the cuban sandwich, tajadas, the cochon du lait po boy, and the indian tacos. oh, and the sweet rose mint iced tea! ono-licious!

btw, i love sushi, but sushi coming from a stand in the middle of a racetrack on a hot/humid day sounds kinda scary to me..
