Jazz on the Villa Reviews
An awesome atmosphere! Aug 11, 2007
A great hostel if you are looking for some entertainment! The staff are great and provide some sort of entertainment every night. It was my 21st birthday while I was theme, and they organised a games night, cheap alcohol and got me a birthday cake. It will be one of those birthdays I definately remember and I thought it was really nice of them!
The rooms are cleaned by maid service every day so it is really clean! The beds are bunk beds, but very comfortable! It isn't is the safest of neighbourhoods to be honest. It is based in Harlem. I didn't have any trouble while I was there though. I think it is more a case of feeling a bit uncomfortable in the street aloe, rather than being in any danger. There is a subway station just around the vorner from the hoste which will take you straight into the city! Subway travel is fairly cheap too. I think we paid $27 for unlimited travel for a week! Definately a good hostel to stay in if you are travelling alone or in NYC for a long time. They have a scheme where you can work at the hostel 24 hours a week and receive free accomodation too - might be worth looking into! Part of the USA 2007 travel blog |
