Jaz Regency Nile Cruise Nile River Reviews
Place where you get spoiled Jun 16, 2011
I have never been on any cruise before so it was my first experience on a river boat cruise. I have cruised for 7 nights. The boat looks quite small from outside comparing to other cruise boats, but I was very presently surprised of the interior.
On arrival, you are welcomed by very polite ship crew who is ready to help you with everything. Main deck consists of a big lounge and reception area with a spiral staircase leading to upper and Nile decks, as well as set of double cabins. First upper deck is solely taken by cabins, whilst on second upper deck a bar salon, a bar lounge and a covered sun-deck bar are located. You will find all you sun lounges and a swimming pool on upper sun deck. Nile deck is occupied by restaurant/kitchen, a small shop selling gold and few more cabins.
The boat is conveniently air-conditioned so you will never get too warm. But be advised, that if you leave the air-con on all night, you will wake up in a very chilly cabin.
All cabins are large doubles with private bathrooms (W/C, shower, hairdryer). Beds are comfortable and are done twice a day. Cabins are equipped with satellite TV, safe and mini fridge. Laundry service is available on request.
The restaurant food was absolutely amazing. There has been no dish that was served twice during the entire cruise. And the cruise is on full-board basis!!! Meals are prepared by an experienced chef who indulges everyone with a variety of continental, regional and traditional Egyptian buffet style cuisine. Fresh fruit, veg and a variety of salads is available with every meal as a small starter. Main meal consists of choice of rice, potato, meat, fish and veg dishes. And there's always a selection of deserts to finish off your meal. You might want to call it greedy, but I could not resist to have a 3-course meal 3 times a day ;)
Except from fine cuisine, the boat provide daily tea service around midday including snacks and cakes. If you chose all inclusive option, you can relax by the pool with nice cocktail (or beer) from 12 till late night :)
The boat offers also evening performances with stunning local folklore, as well as day activities including fruit/veg carving lessons and towel-shaping lessons.
You can visit the boat's shop which sells gold (you can have it crafted to suit your taste) and souvenirs.
To be absolutely honest, after 8 days spent there, I regretted coming back home.
