Jane Lew Vacation Guide

Jane Lew is second largest town in Lewis County, West Virginia, and it boasts a population of 406 residents. The town was laid out by a man named Lewis Maxwell in 1835, but it was not incorporated until 1907. Jane Lew received its name in honor of Jane Lewis, Maxwell's mother. In 2007, Jane Lew celebrated its centennial with various activities at the Jane Lew Park, located one mile west of I-79.

The annual highlight of Jane Lew takes place during Labor Day weekend (the first weekend in September) with the Jane Lew Firemen's Festival. Various vendors and crafters from across the region sell their wares in the fire department and surrounding areas. This event runs alongside the Jackson's Mill Jubilee, which takes place just 5 miles south of Jane Lew just off US Route 19.

The Plantation Inn Hotel in Jane Lew is located just off exit 105 on I-79. It has been newly renovated and is under new management. There are also a few B & Bs in the area.

For dining, Jane Lew offers home cooking at the Plantation Inn Restaurant, T&L Hotdogs and Jane Lew Dairy King. All are located within one mile of the interstate.
