Jamones la Dehesa Malaga Reviews
Great paella Dec 09, 2010
I was drawn to this restaurant because of the gorgeous hams which were hanging from the ceiling, and I’m pleased that I chose to eat there based on such a reason. The restaurant does great quality food, either hot or cold, and as small tapas type sizes or mains sizes. They also have a good range of drinks. Service is decent and there is a nice amount of seating inside.
I ordered a medium sized plate of paella and paid just over 5 Euros (the large plate costs 7 Euros). It was wonderfully cooked and seasoned. They also do other things such as salads, other meat and vegetable dishes and even bull meat! The menu is small but you get the feeling they stick to quality rather than quantity.
The restaurant is authentically Spanish and doesn’t seek to appeal to the tourist lot. For example, they don’t have an English menu or some giant billboard outside. The staff barely speak a word of English either, so it helps to know a few words of Spanish. They were very helpful and welcoming even with my poor Spanish, so all is not lost!
If you are in Malaga, this makes for a lovely little place in which to have lunch.
