Jamestown Vacation Guide

Jamestown was founded as the first surviving British colony in 1607, and celebrated over 400 years of history in 2007. The original triangle fort and church, along with the foundations of several other buildings, can still be seen in the Colonial National Historical Park portion of Jamestown.

There is an adjacent privately-owned and corporation-funded re-enactment Jamestown Settlement and visitor center which attempts to preserve the historic flavor of early colonial life in America.

There is also a free Virginia State Ferry boat across the James River from Jamestown to Scotland, VA on Jamestown Road, immediately adjacent to the Jamestown Settlement.
