'Nice hotel and nice the buffet breakfast' Jun 26, 2014
Our flight from Bali to Yogyakarta is very early and it’s only one of two flights a day, so we must take it, we arrived around at 9 am in the morning at the Hotel we know we can’t check in, but we are allowed to put some of our luggage in storage here, also it is nice that they give you a receipt for how many items you leave.
We take the early hour opportunity to look around Yogyakarta city until we are able to check in later.
The hotel has on arrival a good look to it and has an off road drop off area and also underground parking. The reception area and lounge looks very grand. We booked a superior room at this hotel, and first impressions are nice and spacious, clean and comfortable with excellent views of city, our Bed is a large comfortable king size, we also have television (with many channels), refrigerator, cold air conditioning and nice bathroom also good WIFI.
We are given a welcome drink voucher for juices in the Batik Lounge Bar, really taste good. From out of the Batik lounge and on same floor there is access to the swimming pool and gym. The pool is beautiful with overflowing waterfalls and a separate kiddi pool. Also there is access onto a roof Patio area where you can see the city and on a good clear day Mt. Merapi, but we didn’t see because it was cloudy.
We are to spend just 2 days here before go to Solo. The hotel is modern, with a very pleasant lobby that often features a gamelan player and a batik artist plying their arts as you enter. I love the interior and exterior of the hotel, full of Javanese colour here. The restaurant is very good. The buffet breakfast, with its many stations, is really excellent, Indonesian and Western. This Restaurant also offer. Menu for at lunch and dinner are also excellent food which we can personally recommend.
The hotel location is good for the tourist areas of Yogyakarta, a taxi to Malioboro area, is best but for Keraton Palace and The Antique Market you can take the local Becak of which there are many by the front of hotel, its the old traditional way of getting around the city, and costs about IDR. 20.000. there are still many becak stands around the city. A Taxi to Malioboro Street is also about IDR 20,000 taking about 20 mins...I dont put a time for the Becak as this is just leisurely...lol, so you can choice which want do for getting around this place. The Airport is around 30 - 40 minutes away.
All the staff are nice, friendly and helpful..We Highly recommend this hotel and Jambuluwuk is good choice If you prefer a hotel that is quiet and away from the Hustle and Bustle of Malioboro street.

"I didn't want to leave" Hotel,Jogyakarta Jul 17, 2013
After a twelve hour day driving, including three hours on the back of a motorbike, and you arrive at a hotel looking scruffy and tired, you know you have chosen well when the hotel reception treats you like a long lost friend!
My room was large on the eighth floor with views across to the main shopping street of Malioboro.
On the third floor there was a tropical garden, with rooms on three sides, and the dining room looked to onto a waterfall area, and a pool(non swimming)
The swimming pool is on the next level.
Breakfast was a decision in itself as it had a huge selection of Indonesian and Western food,
Including fruit and croissants, and dinner was usually a la carte and excellent.
Malioboro street was about ten minutes walk,as was the Keraton,Jogyakarta.
Museum Benteng Vredeburg(the old Dutch Fort) is on the corner of Malioboro and Jl Jend A Yani.
I had five nights here, with day excursions on the local buses to Prambanan Hindu Temple and the south coast town of Parangtitis.
I highly recommend this hotel as at true five star hotel, with wonderful staff !
