NSW's biggest water park! Sep 27, 2011
Jamberoo Action Park - Also known as Jamberoo Recreation Park, Jamberoo Theme Park, or to us locals as The Rec' Park.

I have been here probably over 20 times, as I grew up in the town of Jamberoo - coming here for birthdays, family gatherings, school excursions, and to cure a boring weekend.

Today it is the biggest theme park in the state of New South Wales, and only 2hrs drive south of Sydney.

The park is mainly a water park, with a wave pool, a tonne of slides and jumps, but they also have tobogans, racing cars and mini golf. I heard recently that the racing car area is going to be turned into another big water area to cater for more people.

The park closes over the winter season, from April until September. During the summer season, it is open daily from 10am-5pm. They are open on all public holidays (except Christmas), but are closed for a couple of days in December to allow for Primary School students only.

Prices are average - $41 for general admission, children 4-12 years $33, adults over 60 $33, and children 3 and under FREE! And prices cover all rides all day! They have slight discounts for people who are in the Defense Force, Police, Ambulance or Fire Service. Also, if your address on your ID is listed as Jamberoo, you get a discount also as you're a local. You can also hire huts and shelters, but I am unsure as to how much these cost for the day.

As it is mainly a water park, they have very good supervision, with several trained lifeguards in all the areas. They also have a dress code - proper swimwear must be worn, and when on the non-water rides, shirts and shoes must be worn for protection.

There are several restaurants and food shacks where you can buy lunch, but it is probably better to take your own eski of food, as the prices are a little expensive.

Jamberoo Action Park is only a short 2hr drive from Sydney, and very easy to find once you get off the highway - just follow the signs. Traffic to the park can get quite congested on busy days, so allow time for delays.
