Welcome to Jamrock!

I didn't sleep a wink that night as the excitement was way to much for me to handle, images of crystal clear waters, white sands and rum based cocktails would not leave my mind. I couldn't beleive that in just a few hours I would be on a flight to Jamaica, away from London for 3 weeks for qualitly …

Arrived in Jamaica!

Leaving Jamaica was one of the hardest things I've had to do in a long time.  I was darn near tears when going because really, who wants to leave paradise?!?  We woke very early that morning, got our luggage together and waited for our driver to arrive and take us to the airport where we …

Half Moon Bay

Digging into the archives to share another travel adventure, a decidedly posh retreat to the splendid Half Moon Bay resort near Montego Bay.  This was our introduction to Jamaica, birthplace of the Rastafarian movement.  Most folks are cognizant of the term ‘Rastafari’ without app…

Wow, what a great place!   Such friendly people the Jamaicans are! We flew down to Fort Lauderdale on a Northwest Airlink CRJ-200 and then caught a Spirit Airlines A-319 to Montego Bay.   It was about 2 hours and $40 return by bus to Ocho Rios from there.   …

We learned that we were behind on our painting and had to re-paint everything that we had painted. The blue we used in the beginning had to be repainted especially because we didn't use the right base paint. It started to rain and and we had to work overtime. But that was okay because we went to th…

Another great trip to Jamaica under my belt. This time Wolf and I brought along two of our greatest friends, Jodi and Dorothy. We all stayed at Hedonism 3 near Ocho Rios Jamaica. The resort needs to work on it's guest services and update the rooms and amenities. But then again, we didn't go to Jama…

I went to Jamaica with my Church Youth group. We stayed in the interior mountains of Jamaica, in a little town called Bamboo, and visited orphanages, hospitals, schools, and built a home for a family. We had a day off where we went to the coast. A very unique experience.

I don't think anyone expected what happened this year in the Olympics. Those of us who are avid track and field fans were hoping for the best and were given new hope as athletes we have long suspected as dopers -Marion Jones etc- were finally caught and now the real competition could start. It was …

"Gonna meet a little girl in Kingston Town."  I used to sing that song during school assemblies when I was a pup.  The romance of the idea was lost on me back then but as I got older and my taste in music developed to my discovery of Reggae as something fantastic I knew I had to go there,…
