these photos are the result of a day wandering around the city with no exact destination ; ) however here in jakarta and i believe also in the other part of the planet (singapore is not to be mentioned) bombing is considered to be a crime, so we can only enjoy these kinda street art only for a while. But at some ‘untouched’ area these urban art would last a bit longer.

The Cebu Pacific flight SJ 759 from Manila got delayed for an hour and it touched down at Jakarta International Airport at past 1:00 am. As I was clearing through immigration while trying to stay awake and conscious, I noticed that the airport was almost bare, silent, and semi-dark. I was still woozy from trying to keep my eyes wide open and was staggering to keep from falling as I went through baggage and Customs. After Customs clearing, I proceeded to the Exit ...

This is the end of my first trip to Indonesia. I will miss my new friends and  I wish I was staying longer or could just hop over easier for the weekend. But reality is not as fun! I miss it for many reasons, but not included in those =  the bad traffic, smog and being bothered to buy stuff. I took pics of my last day at Sheraton Media Hotel, I loved staying there. The staff was nice and friendly, good breakfast, quiet hotel, we also could use the gym and spa for free...

Another TB Meetup in Jakarta

It all started when a new friend of mine from TB, Jarno from Holland, was coming to town and asked me to share some info about Jakarta and other places.  We were meeting for dinner after he spent the whole day going around Jakarta. Then I thought it would be cool to gather other Jakarta TBs. I left some msgs to Rizky, Peppy and Rini if she could let anyone know. Since it was just fully decided late in the afternoon, only few could confirm to make it. Here are the TBs at this meetup:AsriF...

My First TB Meet Up

Jun 29, 2008 - Jul 03, 2008
I was scheduled to have a training from June 30-July 2 in Jakarta. So, I was thinking.. why don't I try to meet some of TB members while I'm there. I wasn't expecting something "BIG" about this meet up since they just held a big one few weeks back. Meet one or two of them would really make me happy :) So, I contacted rizky_wisnu (Rizky) and inirr (Rini) and asked if they would be available on June 29, 2008. They gave a good response about it and we agreed to meet on that day. Witho...

Today we got up at a half decent time and spent the better half of the morning getting caught up on our blogging and such before doing some more exploring of Jakarta. We decided to get our flights booked to go to Singapore since we weren’t really enjoying Jakarta as much as we thought we would so we went on the Lion Air website to see what was available. We ended up finding a flight to Singapore for 11:15am on the 11th which was perfect so we booked that but when we went to pay we found out...

Where should we spend our honeymoon? My wife and I had gone over this topic several times. Six months before our wedding took place  we remembered an invitation we had received a year ago: "Come, visit us in Indonesia!" Friends of ours, Doris and Michael, were living in Malang (Java) in those days. Why not? We had never been to Asia before. Should be exciting. Let's go!Some months later we were on our way. We had to fly from Duesseldorf (Germany) to Kuala-Lumpur (Malaysia), then to ...

I woke up at 3 o'clock in the morning and prepared myself to be ready and half an hour later I woke up my first daughter, Arin. Just right before we left the house, I woke up Raya. She was ready to go before going to bed. She had changed her cloth and brushed her teeth.   At 4.15 we left for airport. We arrived at airport 5.30. After we prayed shubuh, we had breakfast. When we finished, just in time Harisko and his brother, Irfan, came. After saying goodbye to my husband and my brother...
