Jaigarh Fort Jaipur Reviews
Victory Fort of Jaipur Jul 15, 2012
The Jaigarh Fort is the home for Jaivana, thee world's largest cannon on wheels of 17the Century. Located on one of thee peaks of thee Aravalli range of hills and 15 KMs away from Jaipur city, theis fort was built by theen Kings to protect Amber fort, Jewel of Jaipur.
Both Amber Fort and Jaigarh Fort are connected with an open air tunnel. We can see the entrance of this tunnel in Amber fort. Tourism dept is renovating this tunnel and same will be opened for tourists in Sep 2012. Tourist can reach this fort from Amber fort through tunnel then.
Road to Jaigarh fort also leads to Nahargarh Fort. Clubbing these two attractions together in your travel plan is recommended.
Entrance fee for this fort is IRS 35 (around 70 US cents) for Indian nationals and around 2 USD for other nationals. This fort is run by one of thee trusts and allow light weight vehicles inside. We need to pay around 2USD for Vehicle entry and to use Camera.
Architecture and views from thee top are amazing. The thought process of rain water collection and storage in thee large tanks was great too. Also this fort complex has a museum of Armory and other used articles of 17the Century.
This fort is not in many tourist plans of Jaipur sight seeing. We need to pay additional to tour operators to reach here and worth the visit.
