Jahan Hotel Mashhad Reviews
Very bad service Sep 11, 2016
It started all with us getting sent away from the Javaher Shargh hotel we reserved. Once we arrived there after a 36 hour trip they told us our room had a defect in the bathroom and for that reason we were 'upgraded' to a room in their partner hotel, the Jahan hotel. We clearly pointed out that we didn't want that but after half an hour of discussing we gave up and let someone bring us to the Jahan. We got a very small room with a very small double bed (where only 1,5 person could fit) while we booked twins, a very small bathroom with a french toilet only (while we booked a modern bathroom and toilet) and above all, the room was dirty. The carpet must have been there since the hotel opened and never been replaced. The dirty spots didn't even show the real color of the carpet anymore. We complained immediately and said we wouldn't stay here. The staff told us to keep waiting in the room and would come back with a solution. After waiting for 10 minutes, my dad and I decided to go to the lobby and wait there. After discussing another half hour we got a more spacious room with a modern toilet. The carpet was dirty again and it all seemed old and not clean. We were so tired, and after traveling that long and realising many pilgrims were in Mashhad for Eid, we accepted the room in the end. The beds were good, the shower was spacious and the location was not too far from the shrine but that was all the positive to say about this place. The toilet leaked, the sink leaked, the room, carpet and furniture was old, the staff didn't speak English (or any language other than Farsi) and the wifi didn't work. We didn't try breakfast. Should you go to Mashhad, please don't book this hotel or don't accept a room there like we did in the end. It's really not worth it.
