For this leg of the trip back to Chicago, Amtrak made me a deal for a sleeper room. Normally, I do not purchase the extra accommodations while on the train, but the offer was for $50.00, and this included my meals. It was nice to be able to stretch out and relax without all the noise from the coach cars. Now I'm hooked. These are some pictures from my annual trip out to Destin with my Dad and cousins. This year we saw the destuction left by the hurricane. We started seeing it as far out as Alabama. We still managed to catch some fish and have a great time.

It started innocently enough; I visited Juneau, Alaska in June 1993 and explored the State Capitol building. A few months later, It was Montgomery, Alabama's. In the course of time, it became a hobby. Near the end it became a bit of an obsession. Then, in August of 2006, I visited my 50th US State Capitol building in Pierre, SD. (Yeh!) Yes, I know, I'm a geography nerd.... All entries are maintained in on the 'first visit' date.
