The valley is formed by the Teton Range on the western side and the Gros Ventre range on the eastern side. Grand Teton National Park occupies the north-western part of the valley encompassing the much of the Teton Range as well as Jackson Lake. The town of Jackson, Wyoming, is at the southern end. …

Went to Jackson Hole to get away from where the Blackberry works. Unfortunately technology has caught up and it works here.

I will write more about the overnight camping trip in another blog (which by the way really was fantastic and something we would all definitely do again). This is just my sleeping bag liner story. Most of you who will be reading this know of my fear that I had about sleeping in somethin…

Bike & Build provides young adults with the opportunity to participate in a cross-country bike trip across the US to raise awareness for affordable housing. My route cycled from Virginia Beach, VA to Cannon Beach, OR (5/15/08-7/25/08). Once a week, we traded our bikes in for hammers and helped with Habitat for Humanity or another affordable housing organization. It was, by far, the greatest travel experience I have ever had.

After exploring the wonders of Yellowstone, we headed off to nearby Grand Tetons National Park. Just seven miles south of Yellowstone, these majestic mountains create a skyline that is a photographers dream. Unfortunately, my camera inexplicably stopped working the night before, and I h…

Yellowstone is an amazing landscape. Thermal features and wildlife around every corner leave you in awe. I truely believe every American should visit this first national park.

We had to meet at 7:15 am for an 8 hour raft trip down the Snake River just south of Jackson WY. There were 12 of us and a guide (Chris Walker) on the raft and it was a beautiful (and warm) morning. The first four hours were gentle scenery and a chance for all of us to learn to paddle t…

A long weekend spent visiting friends and snowboarding in WY. It is such a beautiful spot and still relatively untouched. I saw elk and buffalo, had delicious meals and great days on the slopes, but most importantly, got to spend quality time with good people.

We drove from Salt Lake
to Jackson Wyoming today, staying away from Interstate Highways as much as
possible. The drive was through mountains during the peak of the fall
colors and I'm reduced to speechlessness again. This is even more spectacular than New England in the fal…

jackson hole is very cool. more of a two planker mountain, i hold no grudge. and strangely enough if you want great sushi, you need not leave Teton village. Masa Sushi has a great atmosphere. stop and have some sake with Kay. big sky is much more boarder friendly, the long traverse at the bottom of the mountain is a little too long but since that is my biggest complaint about the trip i can highly recommend both places.

We end the day today in Jackson, Wyoming. This has nice slow driving day of only maybe 160 miles. We moseyed, took several stops, and relaxed.
Pulled into our motel in late afternoon and got ourselves comfortable. We then spent a while looking through the yellow pa…
