Jabuka (night club, alternative) Jul 22, 2011
If you are into eighties and want to go to one of non-tourist places, enjoy a beer and meet both great people and weird folks, go to Jabuka on Saturdays (after 1 am). It's absolutely non tourist club and place for those in late 20s and 30s... It is open until 4 or 5 am (depends on the atmosphere). Club that used to be the top of Zagreb's rock scene in the 1980s, it kept the image of dark place for alternatives... Some nights tend to get weird, when a DJ goes into dark mood... Still, you will see the authentic side of Zagreb's pop, rock, alternative (or call it as you like) scene... In summertime it closes (in general, in Zagreb, summertime clubs don't work regularly). The best way to reach it is by cab (it is on the hill)or by bus 102 from Britanski trg (but it goes only until 11,30 pm which is too early for Jabuka). The most affordable cab is Cameo - phone number 00385-1-1212 (call or sms). You will have to wait for their service in the weekend (from 10 mins to half an hour), they are rather popular. So, call them in advance. Have a good time!

An apple a week.... May 08, 2009
Jabuka= Apple= a club that's been running for longer than anyone can remember. A small place that's always packed, laid back and fun. Luna Park is on Fridays and Night of Faith and Devotion on Saturdays. And as you could probably guess from the names of these nights- it's mostly 80's-90's music ranging from Blondie to Sisters of Mercy. There are various "tribute" nights as well.
