JJ's Guesthouse/Hotel Sihanoukville Reviews
JJ's Guesthouse/Hotel Jan 31, 2011
For longer stays in Sihanoukville, I prefer staying downtown which is about mid-way between the popular beaches of Occheuteal and the bustling nightlife at Victory Hill. JJ's is located on Ekareach Street , right next door to the Orange Market which is a handy convenience store. The hotel is an older building that includes an internet café, restaurant, and bar. John and Jackie, from the UK, provide a homey atmosphere and their staff is equally friendly and helpful.
Room 104 had a double bed with clean sheets and pillows, an 18-inch cable television, two nightstand tables, and a wardrobe cabinet that took up most of its floor space. The door leading in only opened part way before bumping the mid-sized fridge behind it. Free wifi connection was included with the $5 room. The cold-water bathroom was a little cramped. Sitting on the toilet, for example, one could easily chip their front teeth on the sink basin. But that risk was a fair trade-off because the shower, at the opposite end, had good drainage without puddling the entire bathroom floor like at most low-budget hotels and guesthouses. I set the wall-mounted fan to a direct flow onto the bed and slept well. I relocated to room 105 when it became available. It was a little larger and had more open space. I'll stay here again on future visits back to Sihanoukville.
