The OK rated stay Jan 25, 2011
There are a lot of hotels to choose from in Bali. But when I came across the hotel's site, all I could think of was to book it right away. However, I had to wait for my cousin & friend's confirmation.

When I got their signal to book it, the hotel couldn't accommodate us on the arrival night as they are fully occupied already and hence we need to stay at another hotel and move to this hotel the next day.

Our hotel (on the first night) is a little bit farther after J Boutique from the airport and so we need to drop off my other cousin and her family first (Yes! they were able to book the hotel for the entire stay). As we have a hired van we stayed a bit when they did the check in. Wow! We were impressed! We couldn't help it but admire the hotel. The hotel's light complimented its concept. I loved the vibrant colors, so chic!

Then, the following day came and it was our turn to check in. As observed earlier, the reception looked very nice and couldn't wait to see our room. The staff who attended to us was pleasant. We thought we'll have a good stay here.

But the allocated room for us wasn't good. There was a window (but doesn't have a good view - all black view - probably the back side of another room. I couldn't remember well' All I know was it was dark out there). In short, not the best room location. We know they're having full occupancy so we didn't bother to have a room move besides we thought we won't be in the room often. The room maybe decorated well but there were traces of being renovated. I should say superficial (esp when lights are turned on). What I love about the room is the bathroom. The shower was glass walled!

We booked with BB mealplan but we were not happy with the food selection. There were empty serving plates and were not refilled even when people are still arriving for breakfast. It was like there was no choice but if you want to eat there, you need to get whatever food is at the buffet table because that's the only food left, that was the impression.

We love the pool at the rooftop but there was no staff assigned at the pool bar. Probably because the place is not frequented by the guests. We were the only guests who were there (note that the hotel was of full occupancy at that time). We called on the reception if we could order food and there came a staff at the pool bar area, but mostly of what we liked from the menu to order were not available. When we finally were able to order, we waited for sometime for the order to come.

But there's one thing that we liked at this hotel. Its location is too near from the airport. Walking distance to most places (may not be near Kuta Beach but it's alright, you eat a lot on holiday so this helps on burning fats!) We just don't like it but loved the location. Farther from the hustle and bustle of night life in Kuta (having said that we partied every night, yay!) I mean don't you just love it when you're done partying and would want to rest and there's this quite place somewhere? :D

Although we never had a major problem at this hotel, if I would have the chance to go back to Bali I would like to book for another hotel. My friend's sister who were with us during this trip (and who has booked another hotel along with our other friends) had a cheaper hotel accommodation but of the same ratings of this hotel. We thought we could find a much nicer hotel with what has been paid here.

Great Location! Sep 16, 2011
been there for 2 nights with my college friends on holiday, we loved the location which very close to bali waterboom and Discovery Plaza..

easy to find, and we can walk to many famous attractions in Kuta beach area..

besides, many good restaurants in walking distance! or we can rent a motorcycle to get around Kuta Beach (traffic jammed almost everywhere).

that time we use one king size bed for 4 people, and the hotel staff is fine with that! (or pretend not to know?) haha!

Good enough if you want to stay close to many attractions in Kuta Bali with reasonable rate compared to other nearby hotels..

"Set in a peaceful part of Kuta" Jul 08, 2011
I stayed at J boutique hotel for 13 nights and always felt comfortable and safe. The rooms were a great size and every member of staff was friendly... The hotel offered help with tours around Bali and also free breakfast every morning...Very yummy...Hot water, clean facilities and a very peaceful swimming pool, sun loungers and a jaquzzi...

Also, provided a safe to keep all personal things and a giant wardbrobe to hang all your bali clothes...

A little pricey, but truly recommended if you want a little bit of peace away from the crazyness of Kuta. It is about a 10 minute walk from the beach and discovery shopping mall and a 15 min drive (depending on traffic) to Poppies lane 1 & 2...

They also offer free wifi with good speed and a beer garden where you can enjoy some lovely balinese lunch/dinner...Very presentable and enjoyable food.

A nice hotel but would have expected more. Feb 18, 2011
Stayed here for my first 2 nights in Bali. They didn't pick me up at the airport as I've asked them to do so I had to take a taxi. Then the internet in my room wasn't working so I had to switch rooms the second night.

The pool on the roof is nice and the woman who works at the spa is AMAZING. Be aware of the moijtos in the pool bar though, not so good!

The rooms were great, but I was mostly annoyed that the two things I booked it for, airport transportation and internet wasn't really working.

Budget in style Dec 18, 2010
I picked this hotel randomly in a last minute booking through www.booking.com. I didnt expect much because of the price it sets. Turned out it's quite a surprise. The hotel is nice and generous.

It has spacious room, good quality bed and nice design. Bathroom is rather small but I love the shower! It has strong flow, always need it after sticky beach swimming.

I went there at the time of low season and the hotel was very generous with its promo program. Free welcome drink, free one day laundry allowance for all clothes as long as fit to the laundry bag, free 15 mins neck massage.

Location wise it's a bit far from the beach. I didnt try, probably you'll need 20-30 mins to reach the nearest Kuta Beach. If you move by car, this hotel gives you strategic access. many exit option, so you can easily get rid of Kuta terrible traffic.

Stylish Hotel in Strategic Location Jun 20, 2010
Stayed here for two nights at their room number #222 (whatta lucky number).

I remember before they re-birth this hotel with J Boutique Hotel it has a name Jatra Hotel.

We enjoyed our stay in here, is quite and elegant style but still far from luxury. With their limited space that they have, they try to maximize its value.

Yes its nice here, but I dont like it hallway when it comes to narrow and bit gloomy.

The room decoration is nice, all things work properly.

But you have to consider, if you stay in Bali I would rather stay in resort hotel instead of boutique/ business looks like hotel. It's take some time to reach this hotel (except from the airport) since its location at the main traffic area in Kuta.

It's a new experience, still have good time tough.
