If you are going to Italy, 3 things not to be missed;
Do NOT miss Montepulciano, and definitely do NOT miss Manuel and Laura's 'A Gambe di Gatto'. And do not forget your camera.
Everything you are seeking to find in Tuscany is all just here. Be prepared for the long lunch/dinner, be entertained, e…

This is the place to go if you want to try real food from Tuscany, including traditional soups and the famous T-bone steak.
The food is really good and the price is fair. You can order everything from starter to dessert and pay around 30 euros (of course it's the steak that makes it expensive).

BEST PIZZA EVER!!! Near the UC EAP program office, and if there are some of you on this site, you need to know this place. It is near Via di Sant' Ignacio...i just looked at my map and I think the street is Via di Pie Marimo. It is very small, but has the typical pizza sign with the coke…

Great Food! They offer samplers of their salads and pastas. You just order the sampler and they portion it out to fit your group size. With the salads you get three different ones to taste and with the pastas you get five to taste. I also reccomend the balsamic steak it was delicious! The prices are…

This is a GREAT shop to sample Italian food and take it home with you! I was a little shy and intimidated by it at first (I guess in America I am used to "self-serve"), but soon "Gino" was whirling me around the store giving me bits of things to sample. They are very passionate about food there! I b…

This place was found in my 'Let's Go' travel guide book. On a whim we walked up from the hostel and were treated to the best meal of our month long trip. The views of Positao are priceless from Da Constantino.
The owner Luigi is quite the character; great guy!
The food is inexpensive and mouthwate…

This Grattachecca place is awesome!!!!
As soon as they open from the beginning of the summer till the end of it, you'll find the Roman nightlife standing in the line a 1 or 2 in the morning just to have the Grattachecca from Sora Maria.
Advice: don't eat it to fast or you'll freeze your brain.

My wife and I went to Trento, Italy to visit her brothers, Aldo and Andrea. This was a special occasion because Leonardo, the son of Elizabeth and Andrea who is now 10, is taking part in his first communion.
We arrived late on Friday night and we toured the downtown area of Trento on Saturday.…

Not sure if I should be writing a review of this place. After all, this is not an official restaurant and therefore doesn't show in any guidebook. Then again, the owner gave me a business card to spread the word of mouth, and what better word of mouth is there than a website full of travel enthusias…

Ok if anyone is planning on hitting up Naples my number one tip for you is to go to Rei di Napoli Restaurant. This was by far the best experience I have ever had eating abroad. First off the food is amazing. But more so then the food is the experience. The two main guys who run the place are Enzo an…

Italy, land of delicious coffees: Espresso, Cappucino, Latte Macchiato, and all the other types! You really have to try it.
Because not all parts were accessable due to the rehearsal of the church choir we decided to leave the Duomo to have a coffee first.
Right at the back of the Duomo we cam…

Finding a decent place to eat in Venice could be a real challenge. Most of the small trattorias in the city centre are overprized and touristy, and the menues varies very little from place to place.
I and my (husband now) got engaged in Venezia on July 23.2006. And of course we wanted to do someth…

the restaurant is located in a beautiful square on the back of the city hall and faces the magnificent "Signorelli Theatre". Generally I wouldn't recommend any place with such a central position in such a touristy area but this is an exception. Not only the food is great with loads of Tuscan special…

Our hosts treated us to lunch and dessert was provided by Guerri's. By far and away, the best pastries I have ever tasted. Everthing was fresh and delcious, not overly sweet and just an absoulte art.
We had some pistachio cream filled puff pastries, Sicilian cassatas and other assorted delights…
