There are many places to eat in Durham and being a student city a lot of these places are veery good value for money.

For Indian food try the Capitol Indian Restaurant on Claypath,.

For Italian food there is a lot of choice, try Emilo's on Elvet Bridge ( a bit pricer, but worth it!) At the cheap end the Spags is a student haven, if you don't mind waiting for a table and sitting elbow to elbow with other diners.

The Japanese restaurant on Crossgate is an amazing experience, eventhough it is alot more expensive. The food is cooked in front of you on a hot plate and you get to attempt to through eggs into a chef hat. This is so much fun, but makes mess everywhere as raw eggs are thrown around!

If you just want to fill you tummy at the end of a hard nights drinking try the Elvet Arch Pizza place, affectionately known as the 'Dirty Shop', or 'Jane's Place', just don't ask Jane why she has only got one arm! The pizza's are good and cheesy chips are often required while staggering home at 2am a little worse for wear!
