Itaca Hostel Travel Reviews

Dec 20, 2007
Okay, where to begin. First of all, I LOVED this hostel. I went just before Christmas, and the place was full. I met some really fun, amazing fellow travelers as well. The place was open really late and really early, so even though it's not 24 hours...it functioned that way to me. They have a full kitchen to use, a living room type area to chill upstairs, with couches. The rooms were all very colorful and warm and well decorated, and every room had a balcony! They also give you free lockers in your room to lock your things in, as well as provide free linen (they have towels you can rent if you need to). The bathrooms were awesome and clean. Two showers with doors and two toilets with doors, I think like 10 or 12 of us ladies shared a bathroom, but you'd never be able to tell. They serve breakfast in the morning, but you have to pay for it. Also, the kitchen is open at night, and mostly during the day, but not in the morning for you to make breakfast...so keep that in mind. They also had high speed internet for 1.20 euro an hour or .60 for 1/2 hour with two computers. I shared a dorm room with 6 other ladies, and it was totally fun. The staff were also extremely helpful...spoke English, Spanish, Catalan, Italian, and probably other stuff too. They are all travelers themselves as well, so they were really cool about people being tired or needing directions and things. They also store your luggage for you for free! The hostel is also right by the Cathedral and a short walk from a bunch of subway stations...though when you try to find it the first time, it's a little difficult.

In all...if you go to Barcelona...try to go here!!
Sweet wall murals.
Awesome staircase with lights!
Reading corner with tons of help...
