What`s your favourite sandwich filling?
You can probably get it here ... only they don`t sell sandwiches, they sell AREPAS. Arepas are flattened corn meal pattys, baked in an oven like a pizza oven. When lightly golden, they are sliced down the middle, pita-bread fashion, then stuffed with whatever you choose. They are wonderful plain (buttered) or plain with a sausage on the side. But especially with tuna and melted cheddar cheese dripping out of them. The only problem is finding the place...unless you stay at the sleep-depriving Hotel El Dorado. The place doesn´t have a name (advertising costs, you see), but from outside the building is the Hotel El Dorado upstairs, and two bars and Arepa Heaven as we called it. Arepa Heaven is no more than a door from the outside. The prices are ridiculously low! You could plough through the menu for less than the price of a UK McDonalds Happy Meal (though you won´t get a free Shrek 3 toy). Try finding it! |
