Isle Of Skye Vacation Guide
So much to see!
So much to discover!
For a true experience of the scottish charms, the Isle of Skye is a must on your list!
Breathtaking landscapes at every turns;
A long history revealing itself everywhere;
Charming villages and friendly villagers;
The place for any mountains lover,
The place for every sea admirer
Kyleakin, Breakish Beach, Elgol, the Moll, Sligachan, Glenbrittle, Talisker, Carbost, Kilt Rock, Neist Point, Staffin... and so on
A melting-pot of what Scotland has best to offer!!!
The Isle of Skye is most famous for the fantastic range of montains known as the Black Cuillin, considered as a serious mountaineering feat to traverse at anytime. The mountains dominate the southern end of the island and undoubtedly the finest ridge traverse in the United Kingdom.
Access to the island has been greatly simplified by the provision of the bridge from Kyle of Lochalsch. this has made the old ferry service redundant as it was fairly unreliable in poor conditions.
The road system around the island is pretty good, the roads are seldom too busy and it is fairly easy to travel from Broadport to Portree and beyond.
The Sligachan Hotel is a convenient stopping off point, a little old fashioned but comfortable rooms with spectacular views of those mighty hills. The bunkhouse is basic but perfectly fine for those on a budget.
The Talisker distillery is the only one on Skye and is worth a visit if only to have a wee taste of the wonderous fluid.

As I said, I came here for 6 months thinking that I could also find some time to go around Europe a little during that time. I thought I would come to the UK to work which would help me earn some money to travel a bit further 'cause let's face it: it is not quite affordable to travel properly…

This morning Matt left early for his bus back to Glasgow. I was asleep and missed him so didn't get to say goodbye. It was great to have met him and except for one small whiplash incident, he did a great job driving us around Scotland! When Anna and I had gotten up we went for a walk around the tow…
