Island Paintball Sports - The place in Hawaii to shoot your friends and get away with it Jul 17, 1999
Island Paintball Sports is one of 3-4 places to shoot paintball on Oahu, but it is by far the best place! You are right across the street from a beautiful beach used by the military during the week for training exercises, including what else--beach assaults. So this paintball field has an "extra kick" other places don't offer: The Marines train on this facility and have constructed multi-story buildings that require clearing. There is also an opporunity to see the rare "paintball machine gun nest" and attack it. They also have multiple fields, paintball supplies, rentals and a small picnic area. Private games are available any day for groups of 20 or more when the Marines are not using the beach. There are also some abandoned runways in this area of Bellows AFS. The staff is entirely retired military and very helpful. Here is their motto:

“Island Paintball Sports - Hawaii’s leader in action pursuit games.”

Important information:

"Bellows Air Force Station field is open to the public. Please remember to have a current ID, Vehicle Registration and Insurance. [Island Paintball Sports] is the only paintball operation to conistently train the U.S. Military and both State and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies."

Bellows Field Beach Park is a popular beach along Waimanalo Bay and also serves as a public campground. The southern half of Bellows Beach is an excellent sandy beach used for amphibious maneuvers and other military training exercises, but is open to the public on the weekends. The northern half of Bellows Beach is not used for training but has been developed with cottages, picnic areas, and AAFES-operated Shoppette, gas pump and launderette. This area is open seven days a week to active and retired United States military personnel, their families and guests.

When the Clinton family visited Hawaii in 1998, they stayed at Bellows AFS. Of course, the paintball field was temporarily closed that weekend--besides we also got 13 inches of rain and President Clinton was on hand to declare a national disaster during his family vacation!

Anyway, if you are in Hawaii and looking to play paintball, shoot 'em up at Bellows Air Force Station and Island Paintball Sports!
