Skye is awsome. I stayed in Kyleakin. Its small and there isn't a lot to it (Castle Moal Ruins which are pretty). There is only one pub but it was a lot of fun and one little corner store. I stayed at the MacBackpacker's Inn, which has regular island tours going during tourist season. It's a cheap way to do the island tour or grab a few people from the hostel and rent a car for the day. Make sure you find your way to the Fairy Glen. It's a local attraction that tourists don't hear about usually. It looks like its straight out of a fairy tale. The story is that fairies live there and if you make them angry they do nasty things to you, like make you fall. So dont whistle or sing. That and see the Castle ruins, and Climb Man of Storr. But overall, it's beautiful.

There are a number of hiking trails, waterfalls, little shops in the towns, and all kinds of castle ruins to see. I was only on the island for a few days but the short time I was there I quite enjoyed it.
