Islamabad The Beautiful
It is a region-wide symbol of progress, innovation and architectural marvel. About Islamabad Combining a rich history, the confluence of many a civilisation and temperate climate, Islamabad - the capital city of Pakistan, is one of the most beautiful cities in the South Asian region. Wide, tree-lined streets adorn the various sectors and zones of the city, making it accessible and spectacular. Administratively, the city is located within the Islamabad Capital Territory, which is federally controlled, even though historically Islamabad has been a part of the Punjab province; more specifically the Potohar Plateau. A meticulously planned city by renowned town planners Doxiadis Associates, Islamabad is the fastest growing city in terms of population, economy and urban development. As this trend continues, the city is shedding its reputation as a city without character, and is fast becoming truly metropolitan.

We arrived in Pakistan on a whirlwind tour of Nepal,(2 days)then blasted through India(3 nights) then straight from Lahore to Islamabad (Sorry Baban, we would have said hello if the timing was right!!).
So we went straight to the Iranian Embassy, waited for a couple of hours and collected our Iranian Visas from the Consul who 'vetted' us in the CCTV monitored room.
Whilst I was hiding my face from prying Pakistani mens eyes (I was in the truck outside the Embassy wearing a balaclava) when o...

was carefully chosen to reflect Pakistan's ideology. It was coined by a
Pakistani teacher during the Government of Ayub Khan. Islamabad is
located 8 miles north of Rawalpindi's city center. In contrast to its
twin city Rawalpindi, Islamabad pictures a lushfully green and peaceful
atmosphere. It is a city of wide tree-lined streets, large houses,
elegant public buildings and well organized bazaars. Sidewalks are
shaded and safe behind...
