Good budget hotel in Palmyra Feb 02, 2011
I stayed at the Ishtar Hotel in Tadmor village (Palmyra) for one night. The hotel is in a great location near the museum and a 5-10 minute walk from the ruins. I paid $25/nt which included breakfast. Their restaurant also serves dinner, I had the mansaf (traditional rice/meat dish) which was very good. The hotel offered a driver out to the valley tombs, citadel and bus station for 500SYP. The hotel is a good place to meet other travelers in the basement 'cave' bar. The rooms were basic and clean with twin beds and a heater. They offered free wifi. There is a mini-mart across the street where you can buy snacks and groceries.
