Isaac Synagogue

I've read that the Isaac synagogue is the most beautiful of all synagogues in Krakow. I can't compare myself though, as I've only visited this one. But she is beautiful indeed, that much is true.

The renovated interior of this building houses a permanent exhibition about the life of Polish Jews, ánd a large collection of posters and advertisements from the war period. These were really worth to have a look at. I'm a big fan of this design style so I loved the artwork a lot. Just as I loved the synagogues architecture and design.

There's a legend attached to this building too (yes, ones again another legend). It goes like this:
There ones was a Jew named Isaac who dreamed that he'd find a treasure underneath one of the bridges in Prague. So he started a journey to find that bridge. When he arrived there he saw nothing, except a group of soldiers. One of the soldiers asked Isaac what he was doing, so he told the story. The soldier laughed and said: "you fool, I've been dreaming all my life from a Jew in Krakow who has a treasure hidden underneath his stove, but I'm not such an idiot to go up to Poland and look for this guy". The rest of the story you can guess. Isaac went back home, broke away his stove and found his treasure. To thank the lord he build the Isaac synagogue.

There is an entrance fee to this sanctuary, which costs 5 PLN. At the entrance there is also a little shop were you can by some typical groceries.
