The Pousada Irmao Sol is located near of the National Park of Serra da Canastra which is the source of one of the most important Brazilian rivers, the São Francisco River. The apartments are new and very comfortable, with accommodations for up to 4 people on each chalet which offers private restroom, gas heated shower, fan, refrigerator, TV & DVD, 2 hammocks in the veranda where you can take a rest and enjoy the sunset. From the apartment's window, you can see the great Serra da Canastra's Wall, the Serra da Babilonia, and between them, the São Francisco's Valley. A delicious breakfast is offered to our guests daily, and you can say what you would like to eat too. The breakfast has no time to finish. Our chalets are located at Sao Jose do Barreiro, a small city 9km from Casca D'Anta Waterfall, inside the Sao Francisco River's Valley, home of the Brazilian Merganser, one of the most threatened animal in this area, only about 250 individuals remain – all over the planet – as reported by Brazilian and Foreign researchers that come here seeking for information on the specie. The Serra da Canastra and Serra da Babilonia complex presents a great number of waterfalls, wonderful places and rare animal and flowering species, some declared close to extinction such the 'Pato Mergulhao' (Mergus Octosetaceus).
