Hey, so today was the first real day after the jetlag that is. Went out with some girls to the pub last night, it was called the Corner Flag and there was a guy playing a guitar and singing bad American pop music. We left after a pint and when a pop/techno version of Stand By Your Man s…

I went to Dublin. For a party. Please don't anyone ask me what Dublin was like - my observations are strictly limited to a ferry terminal, two ferries, and a bar. Ferries are unbelievably more civilised than flying. You turn up half an hour before hand, by a ticket, someone half h…

John and I have been in Dublin for 36 hours. We were jet lagged for the first 30. I think we finally feel somewhat normal. Dublin is ok. We already changed our plans and cancelled our jaunt to the Irish countryside and instead we're headed to LONDON!! We just weren't f…

Today began with a full Irish breakfast. What a great way to start the day. I couldn’t bring myself to try the black pudding, maybe tomorrow. When I got outside the fog was in full effect. I got a little lost going to work. The navigation system can only do so much w…

My bicycle and I were relaxing beside the beach, taking photos and admiring the view. I noticed the castle over beyond the other end of the beach and remembering something about the "pirate queen" Grainne O'Malley's castle on Clare Island, I picked up the bike and went to take a closer look. It was…

I arrived at the Dublin Airport late in the afternoon. I checked with the information desk about the best possible way to get to the city centre. She mentioned that I can either take a taxi or the bus. The bus was naturally way cheaper so I chose that option without delay.&nb…

Over the years I have taken many pictures, done lots of photoshopping, both on my own and others photos but never given a lot of thought to painting. But recently I saw a gallery of “paintings” that had no paint on them at all. They were all photos that had been manipulated, caresse…

Our plane ride took off at 6 in the morning...I had just gotten off work at 12. We rolled painfully out of bed at 3 and left by 4. I had that tired, nauseous-y feeling from lack of sleep, augmented as always by Jeff's strategically erractic driving skills. Because Germany has only two seasons - win…

Inishboffin, or Inis Bo Finne in Gaelic (means Island of the White Cow), sits in the north atlantic about 2 miles offshore from the pier at Magheroarty. About one mile wide and one and a half long, once a busy fishing community it now numbers a few dozen families all of whom spend the winter months…

Finally I made it to the land of my heritage. Well part of it at least. Ireland had been the one place I had wanted to go since I was a young boy and it didn't dissappoint. Once there, the first thing to do was find the hostel, Jacob's Inn, which was the start of an adventure. I think my friends an…

Dingle The idea to cycle the Peninsula had taken root in my mind after a visit in the summer of 2001. I had a longing to return and feel the road beneath the tires of a bicycle. The trouble with cycling is you get used to seeing and hearing everything around you and becoming a part of the …
