We had only a short twenty-four hours in Shannon but we made the best of it. We decided to make a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher, with stops at Bunratty Castle and Durty Nelly’s.
The views of the Aran Islands and Galway Bay from the top of the cliffs are incredible. For those who like …

Here I am eating breakfast in Dublin, Ireland. This is my first time here in this place. The breakfast was delightful. I think i had the best croissants in my entire life ( sorry Germany ). The morning was good, Blake is still asleep but I told him I would wake him up at 10. Not too sure what to do…

It's a strange life I'm living, I know. Six months ago I was part of the 9-5 nation, complete with morning meetings and happy hours. Now, with the exception of the occasional round of dishes, I haven't worked in 2 1/2 months and every hour could be happy if I want it to be. I've stayed at 10 differ…

"I'll seek a four-leaved shamrock in all the fairy dells,
And if I find the charmed laves, or, how I'll weave my spells!
I would not waste my magic might on diamond, pearl, or gold,
For treasure tires the weary sense, such triumph is but cold;
But I would play the enchanter's part, in casting bliss around -
Oh! not a tear, nor aching heart, should in the world be found!"

We arrived to our hostel in Cork Ireland and was staying in what seemed like a jail cell. But we were travleing on a budget so we can't complain. It was very dark and there were multiple people snoring loud so it was quite difficult to get ready for bed.We took a bus to Blarney, Ireland…

Is it just me or we we generally take what we have close by us for granted. As I kid I grew up in a beautiful place as my previous posts attest to. The Islands were always close to me yet it took me forever to actually visit them and see there beauty. I spent a few hours there wit some of my family…

On Monday I flew back to Manchester. This was the first time I'd left the country completely alone. I'd always gone with friends before, but I had now proved I could travel alone and come back alive!

My trip from Dublin back to Shannon was uneventful really. Other then getting lost trying to get out of Dublin. A good city map is essential when driving in these big old cities. Even with that slight frustration I really enjoyed driving there. Once in Shannon it was&nb…

It was time to return home. I packed up, and checked out. I had to walk along the river, to the O'Connell St bridge. Then onto the street itself, until I got to the bus stop. I would hop on the airport bus, that took me to the airport.Once I got there, I went to check in and go through security. Th…

We woke up early since we were very excited about what will await us. We had a shower and put our clothes on and then we headed to Grafton Street where we should meet up with Christian again. We wanted to meet us at 9 a.m. but he didn't show up. I texted him and he texted back he's on his way. Anot…

For most of 1993 I worked at the YWCA (Young Women´s Christian Association) at Lower Baggot Street in Dublin. I was the assistant manager here, which involved basically all duties you can think of in a hostel. This hostel did cater for some short term guests but we mainly had people staying long t…

The last two days have been in Ireland. We

After two weeks of learning the history of Ireland, seeing the sites, and hanging with Andy's fun and fabulous aunts, Andy and I got on a six-hour bus ride in Dublin to head to Tralee. After getting off yet another bus, we wandered around Tralee. Along the way, we found a gorgeous park with a "Gard…
