Dingle Ireland
posted by:

Dingle The idea to cycle the Peninsula had taken root in my mind after a visit in the summer of 2001. I had a longing to return and feel the road beneath the tires of a bicycle. The trouble with cycling is you get used to seeing and hearing everything around you and becoming a part of the elements and countryside you are in. Of course this spoils you forever. It is only then you realize just how much is missed when you are in a car. I have visited this part of the world many times be...

Bundoran - Surfs Up!
posted by:
Mar 01, 2008
Bundoran, remembered as Ireland’s Premier Seaside Resort, it has now fallen upon quieter times. It is located on the shores of the Atlantic against a backdrop of the majestic Ben Bulben mountain range and just south of Donegal town. Many people point out that it is a great place to start from... to visit other places... but it has it's own character and assets too. Now one of the top surfing locations in Ireland it has achieved a 'new tourism' breakthrough with this group of visitors. Water...

Burt Castle, Condae Dhún na nGall
posted by:
Mar 03, 2008
Burt Castle is probably the best known castle in the north-west because of it prominent position on a hilltop clearly visible from the Derry-Letterkenny road. There is no path or road to the site of the castle and it is on private land. It is possible to get close to it by taking one of the roads leading off of the main Derry-Letterkenny road.It was built in the sixteenth century during the reign of Henry the VIII. A medallion found near the castle was dated 1525 and a coin of 1547 was found ...

County Clare, Ireland: Galway Travel Photos
posted by:
Jun 15, 2006
Clare has beautiful countryside, small town life, and interesting historical sites. One of the best things I did there was to take one of the tour buses to the Cliffs of Moher and other sites along the way. Tours leave from Ennis and Galway for a good price. Ask at the tourist office in either town about the tours and where they go. I give both tourist offices A+ ratings for friendliness and helpfulness.

Hi everyone! That was St.Patrick´s Day! For me the first time that I didn´t celebrate it in an Irish Pub in Germany but in Dublin itself.Straight ahead I admit, that I am a loser! I didn´t drink one sip of alcohol that whole day. But more to that later.

When Ireland finally got its long over due summer weather, Bob spared no time in getting out the pool and soaking up the suns ever so fleeting rays......when all of a sudden there was a knock at the door. By the time he found his towel and made his way to the door, there was nobody there....except for a towel on the ground. When he stepped closer he was shocked to realise that the towel contained a baby bulb!!! Who is the mother?? Where did the baby come from??? Who's the father??????...

Arrival
posted by:
Aug 07, 2006 - Aug 17, 2006
Down to just one friend and myself, we returned to Dublin and hit a few more sights before flying out early Saturday morning.  Dublin is late city, not an early one.  Due to the recently enacted liquids ban, we had to get to the airport early, and public transportation hadn't started running yet.

3-30-08   After a good nights sleep I woke up rested. I woke up before my alarm, so got up, showered and typed up my blog entry from the travel day/first day in Dublin. I bought a Bluetooth Travel Keyboard to use with my PDA. I decided I did not want to drag my laptop around this trip, so I am using the PDA. This set up is working just fine so far. The PDA has the applications I need and is much easier to pack and carry. In addition to the word processor I have it set up for GPS. I had...
