Iqaluit Vacation Guide

Iqaluit, formerly known as Frobisher Bay, is the capital of Canada's newest territory (1999) named Nunavut. With a population of over 6,000, Iqaluit is a bustling centre of government activity and private business.

Iqaluit is accessible by jet service via Ottawa and Yellowknife and is the hub for any travel to any other Baffin Island communities.

Along with having some excellent hotel facilities, visitors can experience some good restaurant facilities servicing local foods such as char and caribou. There are also some bars located in Iqaluit.

Situated in a very scenic location, Iqaluit is accessible by water but also experiences one of the largest tidal variations seen in Canada.
