Ioannnina is the capital of the NorthWest region of Greece with a great background of history and culture! The town is a true sight center; as exaggerated as it may be seen, the lake island of Ioannina is one of the world's few lake-islands to be inhabitated, whereas the local castle constitutes a discrete municipal region of the town, with many residents and households!
Regarding the night life of Ioannina, every traveller will be amazed! Besides the natives, a large number of students (University of Ioannina is one of the most famous in Greece) entertain -almost on a daily basis- in various ways (from cinemas to Greek bouzoukia)!

This was a special trip for me. My dear friend Amy and I set out on a two week mission to see some of the Greek Islands and the little village Ioannina where my grandparents were born in Northern Greece. It was the first time I had traveled just winging it and the first time Amy had ever traveled abroad. The only resevations we had for lodging were in Athens and Ioannina which was at the end of the trip. Everyting else we just discovered along the way which made for a great adventure.
