International Guest House Kathmandu
International Guest House Kathmandu Reviews
Central and Historic Location May 14, 2008
Located in Central Thamel, there are countless places to shop, eat, and buy whatever you would want nearby. The room was very nice, the bathroom was clean. However, the bathroom had a vent that went into the adjacent room so everything can be easily heard next door. The price was more than most places, but you are paying for the reputation and location. The place is run very much like an American hotel, so it is efficient. I would advise booking tickets and tours yourself. the desk in the lobby charges far too much. At night it can be loud until everyone goes to sleep. Overall, the place is nice.
The bakery across the street is decent, but get something fresh. |

Your Home Away From Home Mar 03, 2006
EVERYONE stays at the Kathmandu Guest House, from backpackers before a trek to singer Ricky Martin! The people are friendly, the food is great, hotel security is good, the price is cheap and the location is right in the middle of the best section of Kathmandu! You can walk out the front gate and find shops that sell everything from silver jewelry to hand-painted mandalas.
You might want to bring your own blow-up mattress to put over the mattress in the room. But, hey, what does one expect for $17 US per day... Part of the Namaste to Nepal travel blog |
