Soooo...just for all the ppl wanting to make a stopover in lovely Interlaken=)
This is a very smal place and this is also why its more calme and like a big family! just once and for all: its not a city or a town, its actually a village!=) I'm living around here forever and belife me...it can become veeery boooring living here even if you think its lovely living here!:D well but now to what you have to know about the place and the ppl here!and for sure what is werth to see! So jeah...where to start...cant think of anything special to see really:P:P!...nono.. Well there are the mountains around...or, ja i'm sorry, the alps of course:P! you are up there in Grindelwald or Beatenberg or wherever in the mountains very quickly and easy by train out of the station Interlaken OST(for Grindelwald) or WEST(for Beatenberg, by Bus)! I think its also lovely to just walk around Interlaken and the near by villages, there is the river Aare which is very nice to walk along in summer or snowy winter days! you can for sure swim in there which is the locals favourite thing to do in summer!(to be honest i never did it jet:P but i live just right infront of the lake). There is the Höhenmatte in the middle of Interlaken...a huge field with a nice walkway around! Its the place where the local younger ppl hang out at weekend evenings and you will meet loads of ppl there if you are up on meeting locals:D! at sunny sundays the way is crowed with families and just many many ppl!:D Ou and there is the little hill called Harder wihich is a nice place to look over Interlaken, you can get up there by Funi or walk(its really not far!) The lake is something locals love...spending time on and in the lake is one of the things i would not want to miss! you can of course do all sorts of water sports! so yeah thats about it...just enjoy the calm and slow culture of locals and relax! For sure there are the touristic things as well like all the extrem sports and the roupes course but that is just show and not real Berner Oberland, you wont find many locals who have ever done one of those things! Plus..its veeeeery expensive!!!! so i hope you got a impression of my current location and enjoy coming here!=) will post some pics someday:P(okey i'll just post some party pics:P) if you have any questions about anything in switzeralnd just ask!!!:D |

Today was my first real day exploring the Berner Oberland region. The sun was out so that was a great start. I took a 20 minute train to Lauterbrunnen and walked around the town towards the (Trum) falls. It's an enclosed waterfall within the mountai…d want to hop into without knowing everyone else in it (or I guess you'd get to know them very quickly!).
So off I went on the 50 minute uphill trek to Murren. It was a very nice hike, with the road winding along… I have a fever and the only perscription is more cowbell! |

This segment is a personal treat, at least I feel that way. After Lucerne, I hit the train to Interlaken (In-Ter-La-Ken). For those of you not familiar with Interlaken, you should know it is a mecca for extreme sports. It is in the central part of S…d be taking the same train.
We spent a couple of hours talking about our travels. I enjoyed hearing about his trips, and I can only hope he felt the same way about mine. It was a cloudy day, so there wasn't much to see out the window… Interlaken, Switzerland and Canyoning |

Hello and good morning! We rejoin B.R.A.D. on an overnight train to Switzerland. With the lights of Paris behind them, their next journey underway, our heroes awake and wipe the drool from their mouths and the crust from their eyes. Oooh, you are an…D. begin to salivate at the thought. All four make their way toward the voice. When the origin of the voice is reached they immediately realize their mistake. It appears this rafting company is run by Australians; which explains the misleading pronunciation of "check-in." B. and D. are visibly… What Festival? |

After a somewhat restful night ferry to Ancona, a 5 hour train to Milan and then 3 more trains to get to Interlaken, I finally made it! The day went by faster than I thought it would, helped by finishing "The Kite Runner", recommended by one o…d really like to have my rain jacket! We finally found the place and it was an outdoor area with beer vendors and a huge screen. The game was Germany vs. Poland and the German fans were out in full force, flags waving in the air. There… Finally made it to beautiful Interlaken! |

Traveling via train and gondola, we came upon the quaint mountain village of Gimmelwald. Chalets with the typical green shutters and brightly colored geraniums were seen throughout the town. Diret paths/gravel paths... led up through the mountain. T…midst.. which we created out of snow, rocks, grass, and cigarettes we found lying around. At the edge of one of the "paths" we noticed a sign which portrayed a high heeled shoe! I'd like to see someone hike up the mountain in heels!:) … James Bond in the flesh |
